Position Overview Verra Mobilitys Mesa office is hiring a Product Owner for Smart City Solutions to lead all aspects of safe and efficient movement around cities, including (but not limited to) event detection, enforcement of laws, interaction with traffic systems, and surveillance. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and direction to the organization resulting in exceptional solution ideation, creation, and delivery to clients. Essential Responsibilities Assess Verras existing Smart & Safe City Solutions portfolio, develop a vision of the future evolution and define the necessary steps to implement the vision. Help define Verras overall Smart & Safe City product strategy and roadmap. Conduct market intelligence (identification and analysis of trends, products and suppliers), business case development, and pricing, prioritization of product requirements and build, buy, vs partner decisions. Develop a deep understanding of the competitive environment; understand requirements of significant customers and relevant suppliers of IoT products. Understand market requirements and translate into tangible solutions. Connect with customers, understand their challenges, and communicate a vision for how Verras products can address those challenges. Coordinate with sales and marketing, attending client visits to support sales process. Seeks opportunities to position Verra as a \"thought leader\" in the industry. Envision and detail product concepts based on industry knowledge, interact with customers and our sales teams, align these requirements with management, marketing, engineering, finance, procurement, and other product stakeholders. Manage product development and projects. Work closely with internal and external engineering, design, development teams to build the best possible customer experience, and secure fast time to market by working with partners and suppliers. Evaluate engineering, design, and production tradeoffs and drive the solution with a strong push for optimization. Plan, monitor and report product portfolio performance using sales data & other KPIs. Qualifications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience; a Masters degree is preferred Minimum 10 years product management and/or product marketing experience, including a minimum of 5 years P & L responsibility; must be able to demonstrate successes, challenges and innovative measures taken to ensure a healthy portfolio Proven multi-year track record of success in product management; product development; and portfolio and lifecycle management with a focus on at least one of the following: Software as a Solution (SaaS) Internet of Things (IoT) Traffic Management Systems Adaptive Traffic Signal Timing Smart Cities Connected Cars Home Automation Smart Parking Experience must include successful acquisition and integration of new processes/technologies that provide innovative, value-added solutions/services Technical understanding of basic building blocks such as mobile telecommunications, IOT, cloud technology, mobile and embedded operating systems, etc. Capability to think commercially to drive business cases, product pricing and packaging strategies and margin improvement. Experience and competence in project management, ideally in an agile environment, and management of virtual teams across segments and functions.
