Responsibilities Perform routine procedures in accordance with standard operating procedures or provider's instructions. Prepare patients and rooms for examinations and diagnostic tests. Take patient vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature. Assist patients with emotional, physical comfort and safety needs, as needed.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel up to 5% for this position.
Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires a Childcare National Agency Check w/ Inquiries (CNACI) background investigation and has periodic re-verification requirements. A pre-placement medical examination is required. This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Must be able to obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and certification sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA). Advanced certification (e.g., Advanced Life Support) does not supersede BLS completion. This is an Inclement Weather Essential position, you must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions. This position requires rotating shifts, which may include evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays. Must be able to obtain and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification with Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training. This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience which includes nonprofessional nursing care work in a hospital, outpatient clinic, nursing home, or other medical, nursing, or patient care facility, or in such work as that of a home health aide or performing duties such as: 1) Providing personal nursing support care such as pre- and post-operative care and activities of daily living (ADLs); OR 2) Providing support duties for diagnostic and technical treatment procedures, such as setting up and operating special medical equipment and apparatus; OR 3) Caring for mentally ill patients, including observing, recording, and reporting changes in their behavior OR 4) Assisting clinic providers and registered nurses in clinic outpatient activities, documenting care in electronic medical record, obtaining vital signs, setting up for minor procedures including passing instruments, and draping and positioning patients. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
