POSITION SUMMARY

Alterra Mountain Company is looking for an SSIS Developer to support the Company’s ongoing ERP implementation (Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations) and integration efforts towards a companywide vision. This role will work directly with the Enterprise Applications Manager to realize solutions to the various business requirements given. On the technical-level-- having an eye for efficiency, flexibility and automation are highly beneficial, as well as having solid interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication of potentially complex topics with fellow team members and end-users.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

General Responsibilities

  • Understand and analyze requirements to develop, test, configure and deploy complex SSIS packages
  • Use of SQL Server 2012, 2014 or 2016 experience to implement robust, maintainable solutions that meet requirements
  • Evaluate large and complex data sets
  • Troubleshoot SSIS packages to address critical production issues
  • Optimize data warehouse performance by dealing with any data conflicts that arise and keep data definitions up to date
  • Assist application developers in refining complex queues and performance tuning 
  • Create tables, assign permissions, import data, perform app configurations, etc. 
  • Manage source code versioning and deployments 
  • Stay knowledgeable with the latest advances in SQL Server and other data technologies 
  • Responsible for daily load procedures using SSIS, T-SQL, and SQL Agent jobs
  • Conduct multi-dimensional cube development, maintenance, and processing
  • Work with business users and other stakeholders to understand business processes and translate them into functional and non-functional specifications for development
  • Identify problem trends and corrective actions and documenting these through modification of existing best practices guidelines
  • Conducts unit testing and debugging along with system and integration testing
  • Produces technical specifications and software design documents
  • EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of data integration development experience
  • Experience with MS SQL server, SSIS, SSRS, job Scheduling tool, and normalized and dimensional modeling
  • Experience with database migration automation in support of a continuous integration, continuous delivery model
  • Experience working successfully with both technical personnel and non-technical customers and staff
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Microsoft Business Intelligence tools, specifically TSQL and SSIS
  • Must have a good understanding of data relationships and a strong command of SQL syntax
  • Data warehousing, data mart and database technologies, standards, and methodologies desired
  • Database tuning and performance
  • Analysis and design skills, critical thinking, and analytical problem solving
  • Managing company information databases
  • Ability to analyze, meet and recommend adjustments for company requirements
  • Knowledge of data conversion techniques
  • Experience with cloud based or self-service business intelligence platforms is also desired
  • Microsoft DevOps/VSTS, .Net
